This task has helped me to
see the difference between major and minor producers and distributers. It has
also shown me what types of films each type produce and how they are marketed
to their target audience. It has also allowed me to see the sort of budgets
films have and how they vary.
I now know that other
companies, such as the UK Film Council, fund minor films. I also now know that
many of the Blockbuster companies also have subsidiaries.
I believe that Film4 would
be a good production company to put at the start of my opening sequence, as it
is well known for producing coming of age films, such as "Submarine"
and "The Inbetweeners Movie".
